Martin Sullivan

An Erstwhile Biochemist

Martin Sullivan is the Principal of ZOIS Limited since he founded it in 1987. In this position he works directly with Customers in large Fortune 500 companies mostly on large OLTP and Web projects but also on a variety of related Enterprise scale technologies. Since starting ZOIS Martin has been involved in more than 30 engagements with 18 different clients spanning over almost all industry sectors.

Prior to founding ZOIS he was head of software development in a medical instruments company which involved work in real time programming to exacting standards. He also worked in the Computer Science department of the Unilever Research Laboratories where he published papers internally and gave talks on a number of subjects.

Martin continues to teach and publish, being responsible for all the papers on the public ZOIS site. These are considered by some to be a useful resource in the field of OLTP and Transactional systems now found on the World Wide Web. Although he wrote his first computer program in the early Seventies he read Biochemistry and Physiology at Leeds University, graduating in 1979. When he's not away on assignment he lives in Cockermouth with his wife, Inge, and their two children, John and Anne. His leisure time is currently spent exploring the Mesozoic period with John and he enjoys the occasional few `hits' if he can find a fencing partner.

There is more of this narcissism in his Curriculum Vitae which requires a password for access. He can be contacted by telephone (+44 1900 824235) or e-mailed (ms06@zois.co.uk) for this. That e-mail address is temporary to try and thwart spam. If viewing from an archive try sullivan at zois &c.

Martin Sullivan is responsible for maintaining the non-OLTP, eclectic and ephemeral collection of Stuff on the ZOIS site. He also seems to be responsible for the majority of the content.

For the paranoid, Martin Sullivan's PGP public key can be downloaded from this site too. He will be happy to countersign this either by suitably secured e-mail or via conventional post.
